Have you read the book Why Nations Fail?
It’s good and goes into more detail than what the video can cover, but that does do a good gist of what’s involved.
I also recommend The Dictator’s Handbook which explains very well how the less people need to vote for you, the more corrupt the rulers.
I’d recommend you watch the Rules for Rulers video by CGP Grey before reading the book, either of them.
